It’s amazing that most people ignore stuff like that. It frustrates me that no matter what we do, there’s still going to be people in our country that are in poverty. We should be doing something about it. I know Indians are proud & everything, but I really think we should help you guys. Can you really be happy with living in those conditions? Are you really free if you have to submit to poverty and tons of other things?

i strongly believe this! buht whut i dont see is why do people always make us seem unhappy &nd sad about our choice ‘ s. there is alway ‘ s time to learn. &nd yes i know that we should help our land and people buht iht ‘ s uhp to em’ to choose how they live &nd we cant force someone to do something they dont want too .. &nd we may be thaa poorest buht nobody is going to take away our PRIDE! iht ‘ s something that we’ll alway ‘ s have .. no matter whut! buht all this thing ‘ s still matter too me ! &nd im proud to live on pine ridge reservation and too be a sioux ! there is some great people too meet (:

I continue be amazed at the Federal Government dictative manner in the treatment of the Native American Indians. All tribes in this USA. I pray that our first born people of the USA will establish themselves to the Federal Government in the manner that we shall all live. This is in honoring our Mother Earth and in the spiritual life of peace, honor and respect. The Federal Government has taken the respect and honor of these great people. They shalt not take their spirit!

I would like to comment on your findings. I am a Native American. I have lost relatives to diabetes, arguments and drinking. It is true that it appears to run high on our reservation(s). What was not mentioned however was the fact that we are happy. We are a proud people even still. Through the suffering, the grief, the poverty and harsh conditions we remain a proud race and proud of who we are, our ancestors and our family and friends. We are there to help one another out in difficult times because that’s who we are. We never ask for “assistance” because we have chose to live our lives proud and free. Regardless of circumstance that occur in life, our pride and courage can never be broke. It’s in our DNA, it’s who we are.
